The mission of the Grand Junction Career Passport Program is to connect students and recent alumni with professionals in the Grand Valley through professional, educational and social events that will encourage more local workforce participation from CMU graduates. The program will expose students and alumni to job opportunities with local businesses and help them discover what it is like to live, work and play in the Grand Valley. Meanwhile, businesses will have the opportunity to host or sponsor creative and engaging events outside of the typical career fair.

The GJ Career Passport Program is a new initiative spearheaded by Colorado Mesa University Career Services and the Grand Junction Economic Partnership with support from the CMU Alumni Association, Mesa County Workforce Center, Young Professionals Network of Mesa County, and local businesses.

The program is primarily open to Colorado Mesa University seniors and recent graduates, however any CMU student that is actively looking for job opportunities or curious about the local job market should sign up for the program.

Participating employers must be located within Mesa County and must be open to hiring entry level candidates.

There is no fee to sign up for the Grand Junction Career Passport Program and participate in events. All events are offered free to students and recent graduates, unless otherwise noted on the event page.

Events are made possible through sponsorship from participating companies. If your organization is interested in supporting the GJ Career Passport Program, please visit the Employer section of this website or fill out our contact form and someone will be in touch shortly with more information.

Employers can sign up to be a GJ Passport Employer by filling out this form.

Of course, we’d love for you to host or sponsor an event! Contact us to discuss opportunities. We’ll figure out the best fit for your business.

The Grand Junction Career Passport Program is designed to help forge relationships and highlight opportunities that are current or in the near future. While some students and alumni are actively job searching, many participants are simply trying to figure out if they can and want to stay in the Grand Valley post-college. If you have immediate job openings, we welcome you to sign up for the GJ Career Passport Program. We also encourage you to reach out directly to Colorado Mesa University Career Services to learn about Handshake and other tools at your disposal:
